How to Wear a Dress with Sneakers

How to Wear a Dress with Sneakers
March is here, and I’m ready to start sporting all of the spring dresses! For an errand running weekend, you can pair your dress with sneakers for an easy on the go outfit. White sneakers are perfect because white will work with a variety of colors and prints. Plus, the white helps the color of your dress POP!
My light blue dress is a super comfy sweatshirt knit material. It will keep you warm on the cooler spring days. The style and material of the dress have a more casual vibe which is perfect to pair with sneakers. Keeping with my casual vibe, I added in my little gray backpack which is perfect for an errand running day. Whenever I have a crew neckline, I love to grab this layered necklace. I think it lays perfectly over my dress for a simple everyday necklace look.
My casual weekend outfit hits all the must haves for wearing a dress with sneakers. Casual, comfy, and a little bit sporty with little feminine touches in jewelry, color combos, and a ruffle hem.

Turquoise Contrast Eyelet Pullover

Turquoise Contrast Eyelet Pullover
Our weather has been flipping lots between winter and spring weather. I lived in sweaters and layers all weekend long, and in a few days I’ll be back in dresses and shorts. It’s this season transitioning time of year that I love a fashion find like this turquoise contrast eyelet pullover sweater.
From the initial appearance, you see the bold turquoise eyelet statement sleeve that is so perfect for spring. The spring must have eyelet design pairs with a colorful abstract floral print in lots of fun and bold spring colors. First impressions, I’m here for the spring season. Now here is the good part, this top is a lightweight and soft sweatshirt material on the inside. That’s right those eyelet statement sleeves are lined to to keep you warm on those cold spring days. I love the spring and winter combo in this top so you can still enjoy the spring prints and colors while also staying warm.
A bold print like this will look so good against a pair of white jeans for an even dressier outfit! I opted for dark blue jeans and nude colored heels for a bit more on the casual side of a dressy casual look. For a quick business casual look, pair this pullover with my go to bootcut jeans from my last post.

The Softest Black Sweater

THE SOFTEST BLACK SWEATER
I’m wrapping up sweater season here on the blog, and I’ve saved the softest for last! I’ve been loving all the soft, feels like a blanket sweaters this season, but this one, hands down, the softest black sweater. It’s become one of my favorite loungewear sweaters to toss on with a black bralette and leggings. It feels like I’m wrapping myself in a blanket. If I could, I would wear it everyday. On lounge days, it falls to more of a one shoulder fit. The open neckline gives you a little variety on how you can wear it. I shared 3 ways in this Instagram post.
For a chic monochramtic outfit, I opted for the off shoulder style of this sweater. Brown and black used to be such a mixing no, but I love using brown to break up an all black outfit. It adds a pop of color and works really well with black. I think the combo has an effortless look to it. You could also do a black belt and black heels to keep this outfit all one color and your outfit will probably increase on the chic factor scale.

How to Style A Tunic Sweater

HOW TO STYLE A TUNIC SWEATER
While I’ve been loving styling the short and cropped sweaters this winter season, I decided I wanted a few longer sweaters in my winter wardrobe too. A sweater that could work with leggings for work from home days and be styled up a little for heading out of the house. Being petite, I try to be sure the longer sweater doesn’t overwhelm my shorter height. I wanted to share a few tips on how to style a tunic sweater this winter season.
My main goal with this green tunic sweater was to wear it with leggings. With a long and boxy sweater, I don’t want to add volume to my legs. It’s almost like making this a mini dress by pairing it with a good black pair of leggings. It helps keep my proportions balanced. I chose my comfy leggings and black leather boots. You could also pair this with black leather leggings and suede boots to dress it up a bit. If you want to have that same balanced look with jeans, I would opt for a skinny jean. I think a distressed skinny jeans and nude colored heels would be perfect.
Another tip is to play with an elongated illusion with your color choice for pants and shoes. I purposefully chose black leggings and black boots. Since the two are the same color, it elongates the look of my leg by not having a breaking point in color. With jeans, I would opt for a flesh toned shoe which can help with this same illusion.
While not always, I sometimes like to pull my hair back in a low bun when wearing high neck tops and longer tops. I think it helps elongate the look of your neck and face and can help add the look of length to your overall frame.
For this green tunic sweater, I opted for a size XS since it is already a boxy oversized fit. The sleeves are fitted which are so nice when working around the house. I love that I’m not constantly pushing my sleeves up to get them out of the way. This sweater comes in a few different color options, but this dark green was so gorgeous. I could not pass it up.
