I am so happy today is Friday, but not for my normal ready for the weekend reason. Today, Houston is not forecasted to have any rain!! On Monday morning, the entire city was pounded with tons of rain. The city shut down as streets and neighborhoods were flooded, but that was only the beginning. The massive amounts of rain filled our creeks, bayous and rivers causing them to overflow into area neigborhoods. A little bit of flooding in certain areas has become normal in Houston when we have a hard rain, but this time the flooding affected many new areas as most of our creeks and bayous crested or hit “flood stage.” Our news is filled with images of people being rescued by boats and giant trucks because none of us realized how crazy the flooding would be. On top of that, Houston has had sporadic storms every day since only adding to the problem. My family and I are all very lucky to not have flooding in our homes or cars. Our weather forecast now is filled with sunshine and very little rain, something all of us here in Houston are grateful for!
All of this craziness this week has made my vacation feel like forever ago! It’s hard to believe it was just last weekend. I wore this outfit out during our first full day in Charleston. I love this as the perfect summer vacation outfit. The weather in Charleston ended up being a bit cooler than we expected, so I tossed this cardigan on over my top. If you are looking for a easy breezy summer top, this is it! I love the cute eyelet details and the ruffle. The material is really lightweight perfect for the hot summer days to come. I also cannot brag on these sandals enough. I wore them all 3 days in Charleston for massive amounts of walking. My friend has a FitBit, and we walked around 8-10 miles per day. I liked that these sandals are enclosed. I think it helps add support during hours of walking. Some of my other friends were sporting Converse shoes, and all said they were very comfy for our walking adventures. I may need to invest in them for my next trip!

Hey there Monday!! I had such a busy weekend that Monday seemed to sneak up on me this week. My cousin’s wedding was this weekend, and it was gorgeous! I posted what I wore over on Instagram, but I also plan on shooting it for the blog too. The shoes I ordered to wear with the dress don’t come in until today, so I wanted to wait to shoot the look how I originally planned on wearing it. Luckily, I had plenty of backup shoe options!
I’m also getting ready for a really fun girl’s trip that I’m taking in a couple weeks. We are heading to Charleston, and I am so excited to get to really explore this city with friends. I’m slowly planning my outfits for the trip, and I’m hoping to share little bit about how I pack for a vacation and a fun little travel guide of our trip to Charleston. Just a few things to look forward too!
I recently purchased a few pairs of flat shoes for my trip because Charleston is such a walking city. These lace-up flats are a shoe I have been searching for for awhile. I was kind of picky about what I wanted from no metal studs, to the lace design on the top of the foot, and I wanted them under $100. I bought these during a sale, but regular price they still aren’t bad at $70. They are a year-round shoe style, and one I can wear to the office with skirts.
This whole outfit may end up going on my trip with me. I definitely plan on bringing my denim jacket. It’s such an amazing and versatile closet staple. I toss it on with casual looks like this one and over dresses too. My look today is super neutral, so the jacket adds a little color. I also added in some fun colorful jewelry and my pink bag for a few more pops of color. This little crossbody bag is 100% coming on my trip! It’s the perfect size to hold my big DSLR camera along with all my other purse things. This color is sold out, but they do still have it in a darker pink color and some other fun colors too!
So I have to mention my black and gold bangle, it is actually a hair tie attached to a bangle. It’s the coolest thing ever! One of my blogger friends had one, and I really wanted one! I was super excited to receive one in a swag bag at a blogger brunch a few weeks ago. Definitely coming on my trip with me!
Hope ya’ll have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!! I am ready for the weekend!! It is full force allergy season in Houston, the weather girl literally said “If you have allergies, just don’t go outside” in her forecast this week. I only get headaches when the allergy weather is bad, but headaches are still no fun! I did wake up this morning headache free though, so I am ready for some weekend fun! I have plans for family time on Sunday and spring shopping on Saturday! I have a vacation coming up in a few weeks, and I want to buy a few new things for it.
While I am definitely a believer of wear what you love not necessarily what is on trend, I still follow along because what is on trend is what is in store. I am currently in love with many of the current spring trends. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share a few of my favorite spring trends and how I make them work for my style. One trend right now is flared jeans. I am not going to go full big bell bottom flare, because I think they throw off my proportions since I’m a shortie. I do however embrace this trend with my bootcut jeans. I love the slightly flared look of a bootcut jean. I always pair mine with some type of shoe with height whether it be a heel or a wedge. I think the added height really helps with the proportions between my 5’3 height and the flared leg. If you want to go full flare and you are short, I recommend pairing with a shoe with some height.
Flared jeans are fun because you can dress them up or down. I opted to dress this pair down with my mixed media tunic. This top comes in a bunch of different colors, but I really love this dark gray. It is a great basic staple top. I also wear it with pencil skirts for work. I added a punch of color with my bright pink bag which is on sale by the way! This round of silver accessories is my go to for an easy jewelry look. I love the platinum drusy and slate stone from Kendra Scott. I also own the slate gold version of these earrings and the platinum drusy stud earrings. They are great colors that work in so many different ways.
I hope ya’ll have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter! Thank you for swinging by the blog this week!!

I am so excited for the time change. Yes, I hated losing an hour of sleep, but I LOVE that the days are longer now! When it gets dark early, my brain thinks “It’s time for bed.” In winter, I can easily go to bed at like 8, but I try to hold out until 9. The longer daylight hours make me soooo much more productive.
We had lots of fun at the Rodeo Friday night. We ended up being in a suite with free food, so we decided to save our fried rodeo food binge for another trip. The concert was amazing! Darius Rucker did a great job of mixing his country music with his Hootie and the Blowfish hits. I hope you got a chance to check out some of my Snapchat snaps from the night!
This week on the blog, I am sharing some Easter outfit ideas. Easter falls on March 27th this year which is only a couple weeks away. Whenever Easter is in March, I feel like it sneaks up on me. I always expect it to be in April.
This first look is kind of a casual Easter outfit. For holidays, my casual attire still tends to have a bit of a dressy aspect to it. Both my top and jeans were purchased during the Shopbop sale a few weeks ago. I love this top! This top is also supposed to be able to be worn as a dress. I feel like I need a tan for that because it’s kinda short. I love the floral print, super pastel color, and all the movement when I walk. Plus, hello I can eat like all Grandma’s desserts in this top. 😉
Last summer I tiptoed ever so slowly into wearing white denim, and this year I have a feeling I’m going to wear it so much my other jeans are going to be jealous. I originally wanted these AG white jeans which I own in blue and LOVE, but my size was out. I decided on these Paige ones, because I love the dark denim version I own. The denim fabric is nice and thick which means no worries about being see through. They really hold their shape too. I can easily wear mine multiple times without the fabric over-stretching and becoming saggy. I have definitely realized that paying a little extra for denim is worth it. I find they don’t stretch as much, and so far the ones I have had for awhile still look pretty new. I know it is still months away, but I’m already planning on buying a couple pairs of denim in the big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year.
Speaking of sales, Baublebar is having a 30% off sale today! I own quite a few of their bracelets and a couple other fun statement earrings and necklaces. If you need to spruce up your jewelry drawer a bit, check them out. You need to used code NEVERENOUGH at checkout, and just a heads up they do have a few exclusions.
Thanks for swinging by the blog today, and don’t forget to check back Wednesday for some Easter Dress ideas!
