Little Red Dress

Hello!! A little black dress or LBD for short is a staple in any woman’s closet. It’s a dress you can quickly grab for the office, date night, a cocktail event, or a wedding. I have several LBDs for various types of occasions. But today, we are talking about the other dress I think every woman should have one of – the little red dress.
I love wearing the color red. It’s a bold, statement making color, and pairs well with everything. Add red to a fitted dress, and you have an instant girlboss look. Red is such a power color and can give any woman a quick boost of confidence. A little red dress is perfect for an important meeting, date night, and cocktail events. Basically, everywhere you would were a LBD, you can wear a LRD.
This dress in particular I love because the simple silhouette paired with the bold red makes it work for a variety of engagements. The cap sleeve, midi look will work in the office, while the body con fit makes this dress work for cocktail events and date night. For the sizing on this one, I’m wearing a US4 which fits like a normal 2, and I did have it altered taking the hem up about 2 inches.

Gingham Dress

Ya’ll, we have had the prettiest first week of Spring! I know so many are dealing with snow, but our weather has been picture perfect. So I think you should all escape to Texas and join our Spring weather party!! 🙂 I have a feeling everyone will be outdoors all weekend long, and the rosé will be flowing!
I love pulling out the black and white gingham print for Spring. This print seems right up there with florals in popularity. I found this gingham dress about a week before I bought it. I could not get it out of my head. I loved the gingham, but I also LOVED the ruffle midi bottom and halter neckline. I think two really work well with my petite frame. The full skirt is balanced out by the tighter fitting and shoulder baring top. Also, this dress is perfect for twirling. I felt a little like my BFF’s 3-year old when she puts on her princess dresses. I just had to twirl a bit.
Originally, I pictured pairing this with fun red statement jewelry for a party or happy hour look. Once I tried it on, I decided to play with a softer color and pair it with this light turquoise statement necklace and simple gold stud earrings. I like how the softer color plays up the feminine details on the dress. I think this softer styling would be perfect for a baby/bridal shower, date night, or a fancy lunch.
Sizing Note: Most brands at Asos are European sizing, so you will need to size up. I am wearing a US6 in this dress, and I normally wear a 4 in dresses. If you have never shopped Asos before, I love them! They were one of the first places I shopped at online. They have really quick shipping. I usually get my packages in 2-7 days, and the return process is really easy too. With the sizing difference, I have had some big misses which made me appreciate their easy return process.

When ever I put skinny black jeans on with peep toe pumps, I always have that moment wear I kind of feel like Sandra D from Grease. 🙂 I’m pretty sure my love for an all black outfit stems from watching that movie like a millions times. Whenever I don’t know what to wear, I almost always fall back on a classic black look. I think it is perfect for just about any occasion. I would wear this to happy hour, date night, girls night out, family dinner, a networking event, casual Friday at work. I actually could name some more, but you catch my drift. When doing an all black look, I like to find ways to bring in a little color with my accessories. Sometimes I might go with a neutral purse and opt for some fun colorful shoes like these! For this look, I loved the way my nude pump paired with it (remember that Sandra D moment), so I decided to go with a pop of color in my bag. By the way, my purse is currently on clearance for $90 off!!! Since my purse is such a showstopper, I kept my jewelry neutral but still a little bit statement in itself. I really like how the blue stones in my earrings partner with both the green of the purse and the white of my necklace to really connect all the different colors. Am I the only one who now has the “You’re the One That I Want” song stuck in their head? Happy Monday Ya’ll and thanks for visiting the blog today!
