When ever I put skinny black jeans on with peep toe pumps, I always have that moment wear I kind of feel like Sandra D from Grease. 🙂 I’m pretty sure my love for an all black outfit stems from watching that movie like a millions times. Whenever I don’t know what to wear, I almost always fall back on a classic black look. I think it is perfect for just about any occasion. I would wear this to happy hour, date night, girls night out, family dinner, a networking event, casual Friday at work. I actually could name some more, but you catch my drift. When doing an all black look, I like to find ways to bring in a little color with my accessories. Sometimes I might go with a neutral purse and opt for some fun colorful shoes like these! For this look, I loved the way my nude pump paired with it (remember that Sandra D moment), so I decided to go with a pop of color in my bag. By the way, my purse is currently on clearance for $90 off!!! Since my purse is such a showstopper, I kept my jewelry neutral but still a little bit statement in itself. I really like how the blue stones in my earrings partner with both the green of the purse and the white of my necklace to really connect all the different colors. Am I the only one who now has the “You’re the One That I Want” song stuck in their head? Happy Monday Ya’ll and thanks for visiting the blog today!

My go-to weekend look for running errands in the fall is pretty much different variations of this outfit. You can never go wrong with a striped tee for pretty much any outfit. I pair them with pencil skirts for work, and on weekends I love pairing them with jeans. They are also a great layering piece for fall. Stripes are an easy print to mix with. I love mixing mine with plaids and floral prints. This red version is sold out, but I created a fun little striped tee widget for you at the end of this post with some great options in an array of colors. I like to buy mine a little long, so they can peek out at the bottom of another top.
I bought these jeggings at last year’s Nordstrom Sale. I wanted to try my hand at a slightly distressed skinny jean. I really like this pair, and I’m currently looking to get another pair in blue denim to wear this fall (kinda like these). My dad totally makes fun of me for paying someone to put holes in my jeans:), but I tried once and they just didn’t look as cute. I’m kind of picky with my distressing as far as wear the holes are and how big they are. I like them to be subtle and just in a couple of spots. Of course, who knows in a year I may decide I’m ready to try some big rips. ha! Happy Friday Ya’ll!

Happy First Day of Fall!! Okay, in Texas we are still about a month away from cool fall weather, but I figured I can still celebrate on the blog! When I first laid eyes on this scarf from Manoosh, I thought of this maroon dress. I love how the color palette of the scarf works with the wine color of the dress. Plus, the scarf is called Autumnscape, I mean it was meant for the first day of Autumn! I have mentioned Manoosh scarves before in this post. All of their scarves are based on abstract artwork. I always enjoy finding unique pieces, and these scarves definitely fit the one of a kind feel. Plaid and solid color scarves will be taking over soon, and I love that these Manoosh scarves have a different look to them. I was drawn to the earthy tones in this particular one, but their fall collection has even more pretty color options. These brown boots are a few years old and have some definite wear and tear on them, but they definitely come back to life with this earth-toned ensemble. I linked a similar pair for ya’ll above. Happy Wednesday and Happy Fall! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Flared Skirt, Plaid Shirt

HINGE Check Cotton Shirt | HALOGEN Flared Ponte Skirt *ON SALE | ELAINE TURNER Gillian Heel | TORY BURCH Robinson Cross Body Bag [SAME STYLE | SIMILAR COLOR] | KENDRA SCOTT Harlie Statement Necklace *ON SALE | SWELL CAROLINE c/o Enamel Signature Bracelet | BAUBLEBAR Gold Ladder Cuff | GORJANA Chloe Stud Earrings | RAYBAN Original Aviator Sunglasses | IT COSMETICS CC+ Lip Serum in Love | ESSIE Nail Color in Bahama Mama
My favorite way to get away with wearing my comfy plaid shirts to work is by pairing them with a skirt. Pencil skirts are usually my go to, but I love how this plaid looks with a flared skirt. I picked up this flared skirt from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and it is back on sale for half off!! One big seller on this fit and flare skirt is how versatile it can be. This look could work for both the office and a weekend look depending on your shoes. I paired with my dressier booties from Elaine Turner for work, but you could pair with some taupe or black suede booties for a more casual look. If you wanted to dress this skirt up even more, you can pair it with a super fitted top like this one, and some strappy shoes for a more night out on the town look. When winter hits, this skirt will also look good paired with an oversized sweater and tights. The fit and flare skirt is one that can be worn year round especially in black.
My vacation has officially ended and it is back to work today. I’m kind of excited to get back into a daily routine, although I am going to miss lounging around in my pjs all day! If you are in Houston, don’t forget about the fun event tonight at Tootsie’s! Head to this post for the event flyer and to learn more.
