Hello Ladies! I meant to have this post up yesterday, but I went out of town Sunday and due to traffic delays got home way later than expected.  So I decided to change up my schedule this week and do only two posts, but I will be back to the MWF schedule next week.

I’m back today with my go to winter work combo, the sweater, skirt and boots.  First off, if you need a good black fitted sweater, this one is it!  I wear it with skirts to work and with jeans for a casual look. I tossed a black leather jacket over it with jeans and boots for a little happy hour look a couple weeks ago.  Super versatile style!

This gray flippy skirt is definitely a piece you can get lots of use from year round.  The light gray color will work now with black and dark jewel tones, and in spring with floral blouses, white tops, and pastels. It’s a pull on design and slightly fleece like material which makes it super comfy.  I wear flippy skirts to the office every week.  I like the flared design of them to add a slight playfulness and bounce to an outfit. They also transition really well to post work events.

I hope your week is off to a good start.  Thanks for stopping by!

This blush pink sweater fit the bill perfectly.

The ruffle sleeve details paired with the blush pink color adds such a pretty femininity to this sweater.  The burgundy ribbon  just adds to this feel.  It’s a beautiful sweater to wear to work with slacks or tucked into a pencil skirt.  I opted for gray pants because I LOVE gray and pink together.  You could also wear black or play up the secondary color and go with burgundy skirt or pants.

For a more casual look, toss on a pair of gray or white jeans.  White jeans and a taupe boot would be perfect for a casual night out.   I paired this with silver jewelry and decided to skip the necklace.  If I paired this with jeans, I think it would perfect with a long rose gold necklace.

I’m officially kicking off holiday season this weekend with my first holiday party of the season.   I’m heading to the mall today to pick up the last of my gifts, and then it’s off to gift wrap.  I always take a a few days off work in December for holiday shopping. I find it so much easier to do during the weekdays with less crowds. Stay tuned next week for a post all about my easy and beautiful way to wrap Christmas presents.  Also, did you catch yesterday’s Holiday Home Tour??  You can check it out HERE for a little Christmas decorating inspo plus a few of my tips for decorating a small space.

Ya’ll have a fabulous weekend, and thank you so much for taking some time to stop by this week!

Okay, I’m pretty sure I have found the perfect little black dress you will wear all holiday season.  This dress will take you from work to date night, happy hour, or post work event seamlessly.  It would also be perfect to wear to an office holiday party or dinner party. Overall, I would wear this outfit to work exactly as is except I would probably go with a little less glam earring choice like studs or simple hoops.  Transitioning this dress from day to night can be easy as changing out your accessories. You can add a pair of statement earrings like I did in this post.  Changing out your heels to a fun colorful pair like red for a holiday party or date night is another simple swap.  Metallic heels are so popular right now and would be perfect for an event or happy hour.

I have such a weakness for little black dresses that can work so perfectly in a variety of situations with just a few accessory swaps.  I love this dress for the holidays because the calendar is filled with parties and events and having one dress for all of them can be good for your budget.  This dress can be glammed up or kept very simple to work in a variety of parties from cocktail to Thanksgiving dinner to casual post work drinks with friends.  If you want one dress that will carry you from fall to winter, I found it!

Speaking of holiday parties, I am headed to a fun Halloween party this weekend!  I’m so excited to be gathered with all my friends and catch up.  I’m a huge fan of dressing up and playing with fun makeup ideas, and so are many of my friends.  I can’t wait to see what everyone wears this year.  I hope ya’ll have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Lovelies!  Ya’ll I had the most relaxing last weekend of September.  After over a month of non-stop plans, I did NOTHING and it was fabulous! I watched a Hallmark movie, read a little, cleaned my place, took a nap, and just enjoyed the quiet peaceful weekend.  One thing I did not get a chance to work on was my post with all the fashion shows I atttended.  Not going to lie, I decided to take a little extra me time this weekend and postpone that post, BUT it is coming!  Throughout the process of planning, attending, and recaping my trip to NYFW, I recieved a few questions from ya’ll, family, and friends.  I figured why not do a little q&a session all about attending New York Fashion Week as a blogger to answer my most asked questions.  So here we go:

Why did you attend Fashion Week?

Attending NYFW has been a bucket list dream of mine for years!  Every year, I watch online videos, and instastories of the shows.  I’ve wanted to attend in the past, but the timing never worked out.  This year the stars aligned, and I finally saw my opportunity to attend.  This year for me was more about living out my fashion dream and so I attended lots of the shows.  Another perk to attending fashion week is getting face time with brands and pr companies.  You each get to put a face to an email.  I find you kind of have to pick which you want to do more of as both can take up much of your day.

What was your favorite NYFW experience this year?

I had the opportunity to work with Clear Eyes and go backstage before a set of fashion shows.  It was definitely one of those rare opportunities, and it was really fun to go and see everything going on backstage from hair and makeup to the show line up.  For these shows, I also was able to sit front row which was so much fun.  You can see more of this over on Instastories under my NYFW highlight!

How do you get invited to shows?

Email everyone! Just over a month before fashion week, I started compiling a list of New York PR companies, designers PR contacts, and brands I work with who are based in New York.  Then, I started emailing everyone to let them know that I would be in the city for NYFW and I’d love to attend their show or meet with them.  A few weeks prior to the show, I started getting invites and compiling a schedule.  You basically have to just spread the word to the fashion world that you will be in town for Fashion Week.  I also joined GPS Radar which allowed me to request invites to shows too.  You have to be approved to use this app, so if you are attending I recommend requesting approval over a month in advance before the rush of requests start.

What is it like to attend a fashion show?

Honestly, it’s a lot of waiting for about 10-15 magical fashion minutes. 🙂  Even though our hotel was pretty close to the main NYFW area, I still easily had a 20-30 minute commute to show venues, then you wait in line for another 20ish minutes, then you wait in your seat for another 20ish minutes, then the show starts, and it’s usually over in like 15 minutes.  I will say the shows I attended were all amazing and worth the wait time!  My takeaway lesson this year, all shows start 30 minutes late.   I recommend being on time, because they sometimes give you a better seat if someone doesn’t show up.  I was able to go from a standing ticket to second row at one show this way.

If you have any other questions feel free to shoot me an email, and I will be happy to get back to you!
