Instagram Roundup
Hey Ya’ll and Happy Friday!! Are you ready for Valentine’s Weekend?? We are heading to one of our favorite restaurants, Uchi. They serve all small plate dishes, and all the items we have tried are always delicious!! I’m still up in the air on what I’m wearing, but I will try to remember to snap a pic and share on Instagram. We notoriously overeat when we go to Uchi, so I know I will be in something comfy but still cute and dressy. I’m also excited because I am off Monday for President’s Day, so I have a fabulous 3-day weekend ahead of me!! I don’t really have any plans Monday, but to relax and get a few things around the house done. Oh and a little sale shopping too! I will add a little President’s Day Sale roundup at the end of my post Monday, so be sure to check back!

These last two aren’t outfit photos, but they are from my Instagram. I thought I would give you a tiny peek into what else I share on my Instagram feed besides clothes. A bit of a look into blogger life behind the scenes. One of the perks of being a blogger is private blogger events like the two below. Recently, I was invited to Drybar for a blowout and champagne. It was my first blowout ever, and it was really fun! We learned all about he products and services they offer at the salon. A few weeks later, I was invited to a private dinner to check out Brian Gavin Diamonds and learn more about this local family owned business. Turtleneck Sweater & Tights

I am 100% writing this while watching the Super Bowl, the 4th quarter to be exact. While I was kind of rooting for both teams, I thought Carolina was going to easily run away with the game. Imagine my shock to be sitting here with Denver about to win. I am still happy if Denver wins for Peyton Manning. He definitely deserves it!
But enough football, let’s talk this fab winter office outfit. I don’t own too many turtlenecks because I find some uncomfortable. Especially since we haven’t really had a good winter here yet. The turtleneck portion of this one is a bit loose though which makes it a bit more comfy and wonderfully warm on cold days. I really like pairing a longer sweater with my flared skirt to tame the flare a bit. It kind of creates a different silhouette for the skirt. I also added my black tights I shared last week. I love pairing my black tights with these Elaine Turner dress booties. They are perfect for the office! I bought these last year, so I linked a similar pair for you above. I also went with my new Jetsetter mini because I wanted to show that this cute pink bag can work for both weekend casual and office chic.
And with the end of this post, the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning have won the Super Bowl! Now to start the countdown until next football season and the next Super Bowl which is here in Houston!

Hi Ho Hi Ho it’s off to work we go! While working on this post, I got that song stuck in my head, so I decided to share it. Since it’s Monday, I thought I would share a little office outfit inspiration with you. I mentioned last time I posted this top that it was a must have work shirt. I wanted to show you how perfect it pairs with a pencil skirt for work. You could also pair it with a fun colorful skirt to bring some color into your outfit, but I went with my favorite a classic black and white with a colorful purse. I love that this top is not stiff. I sit at a desk all day and the last thing I want is for my office clothes to be uncomfortable. If you are looking for a great pair of black tights, these H&M ones are awesome! I have had them for over 5 years now and they still look new. I must mention that I also only wear them about half a dozen times a year though. I love pairing them with my pencil and flared skirts when it’s cold out. Of course, today the high is 80, so I will be keeping them in my drawer until it’s cold again in a couple days. I kind of like this few days on and few days off of winter we have going on right now. I usually can only stand cold weather for about 3 days and then I am done with it. You know just enough time to wear my cute jackets and sweaters. I like rotating with spring weather, because the breaks from the cold are nice. Alright ya’ll I am off to tackle this Monday! I definitely think I am more creative with my layering in winter. Warm but still cute, that’s my goal. I also like to mix and match my sweaters with pieces I wear from other seasons. Winter in Texas only lasts a couple months, so I don’t necessarily like to buy loads of sweaters. Instead I try to buy more solid color sweaters that I can mix in with my wardrobe and wear layered with other tops over and over again. The v-neckline on this sweater was perfect to pair with this tie neck blouse. I also love the stark contrast in color from the purple and the ivory. If you follow my instagram or saw my roundup on Monday, you know I love my skinny work pants, but I also love to pull out this flared pair. I think flared work pants are perfect when wearing a more slim fit top like with this fitted sweater or with a button down top. This is definitely a winter work outfit that has me excited to change out of my warm and cozy pajamas and head into the office. Well that and coffee, lots of coffee! 🙂
