My go-to weekend look for running errands in the fall is pretty much different variations of this outfit. You can never go wrong with a striped tee for pretty much any outfit. I pair them with pencil skirts for work, and on weekends I love pairing them with jeans. They are also a great layering piece for fall. Stripes are an easy print to mix with. I love mixing mine with plaids and floral prints. This red version is sold out, but I created a fun little striped tee widget for you at the end of this post with some great options in an array of colors. I like to buy mine a little long, so they can peek out at the bottom of another top.
I bought these jeggings at last year’s Nordstrom Sale. I wanted to try my hand at a slightly distressed skinny jean. I really like this pair, and I’m currently looking to get another pair in blue denim to wear this fall (kinda like these). My dad totally makes fun of me for paying someone to put holes in my jeans:), but I tried once and they just didn’t look as cute. I’m kind of picky with my distressing as far as wear the holes are and how big they are. I like them to be subtle and just in a couple of spots. Of course, who knows in a year I may decide I’m ready to try some big rips. ha! Happy Friday Ya’ll!

Have you ever looked back at old photos of your parents or grandparents and seen clothes you would totally still wear today? Or looked at old fashion magazines and seen today’s hot trends on their covers? While a style may fade away, it doesn’t mean it is gone forever! I love finding beautiful vintage pieces. If you have never been to a vintage clothing store, I highly recommend it! Even if you have no plan on buying a thing, it is fun to go through all the clothes and see old styles that are new again. It’s somewhat like a fashion museum. If you are in Houston, I highly recommend Cheeky Vintage. The store has an amazing selection, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about both fashion and all the pieces in the store.
This vintage jacket was a gift from a few years ago. It had shoulder pads, but I quickly removed them. While some vintage will come with designer labels like Chanel, some like this jacket have no label. This jacket reminds me a lot of a Chanel style jacket which is probably why I like it so much. A vintage jacket like this one can be worked into a dressy casual look like this one or paired with a dress or slacks for a work look. I personally love a dressy casual look, so this is usually my go to outfit. Jackets like this one are still popular so you can still find them in stores like Nordstrom. A tweed jacket is similar to this one, but they can sometimes get pricey. I also linked a jacket from TheRealReal, an online consignment shop that verifies the authenticity of all its products. I tried creating a cute little widget for ya’ll of vintage inspired jackets that I like, but I had some issues. So instead, I linked a few up in the details section. Some are total splurge pieces like the Chanel jacket, but I did find some in the $100 price range.
By the way, my Paige denim you see my wearing all the time are on sale! I linked two different stores that have them on sale right now!! I hope you all have a fabulous Monday!! Thanks for stopping by!

Falling for Ponchos

| DETAILS |
PAINTED THREADS Fringe Trim Poncho | KIT & ACE c/o Keefer Tee | DL1961 c/o Emma in Riker | NINE WEST Black Booties [LOVE | OBSESSED!] | MARC BY MARC JACOBS Leather Preppy HoboSIMILAR IN NYLON | KENDRA SCOTT Rayne Necklace, Elisa Necklace, Arden Cuff | STELLA & DOT Renegade Bracelet | RAY-BAN Mirrored Aviator Sunglasses | IT COSMETICS Lip Creme Gloss in Love | ESSIE Nail Color in Master Plan
I had fun styling this poncho for summer, but I am so ready to start wearing this thing in the fall and winter! When I originally purchased this poncho in the #NSale a couple months ago, this outfit was almost exactly what I had in mind. I actually pictured it with my tall black riding boots, but it’s still a teeny bit to warm for those beauties. I typically roll my jeans when I wear booties, but I decided to try tucking this pair into them. This pair has a more legging fit and is tight at the ankle, so it fits well inside the bootie without looking to bulky around the ankle. These shoes are a few years old and while looking for similar pairs, I stumbled upon the two gorgeous pairs linked by Nine West. They are not really similar, but I love the design of them. They have cool cutouts on them and are just beautiful so the shoe lover in me had to share them!! Ponchos are a great layering piece to have around for fall and winter. They have a blanket look to them, and are perfect paired with a casual tee. I also love this one with a black long sleeved tee. If you want to be comfy and warm while still looking chic, then a poncho is perfect addition to your look. I’m someone who is always cold, and I love being able to wrap up in my blanket poncho when I am cold. This week seemed to go by so slow! One of those weeks where you think it’s Thursday, but it’s really only Tuesday. My days have been like that all week, and I am so ready for this weekend!! Thanks for stopping by the blog this week! I hope you all have a LOOOOOONG weekend! 🙂

Kimono for Transitioning

| DETAILS |
KORI Mocha Embroidered Kimono | H&M White Tee [SIMILAR | SIMILAR] | WHITE HOUSE BLACK MARKET Saint Honore Jeans | DV BY DOLCE VITA Conary Booties [SIMILAR | MORE BOOTIES HERE!] | STELLA & DOT Renegade Bracelet, Rebel Pendant | KENDRA SCOTT Arden Bracelet, c/o Addie Earrings | NADRI Crystal Bangle | RAYBAN Mirrored Aviator Sunglasses | IT COSMETICS Lip Creme Gloss in Love
The calendar says Fall, but the weather outside is definitely still in transition mode. Transitioning seasons is all about mixing pieces from both the past and upcoming season. For today’s look, I paired a perfect for spring and summer kimono with my favorite fall booties. I picked up this lightweight kimono last week from the Dao Chloe Dao Boutique in Houston. First off, if you are in Houston, you need to check this place out. The boutique features Chloe’s amazing and beautiful designs, as well as more affordably priced items hand-picked by Chloe. I have been a fan of hers since Project Runway, and love seeing her shows at Fashion Houston. I love her style and always leave her store with some fun new pieces. My favorite thing about this kimono is the color scheme. The colors are a great earth tone for fall, but are on the lighter side which is perfect for spring and summer too. In summer, I would definitely pair this with some shorts and a tank top. I managed to find the exact one at an online boutique and linked it above. I also shared some more kimonos that I think our perfect for transitional weather in the little widget below. For fall, I am all about pairing kimonos with a simple tee and booties! These booties are last season, but I linked a near identical pair that cost way less than mine! When the weather is even cooler, kimonos can also be paired with skinny jeans and riding boots. If you want to go for a full 70s vibe, pair it with flared jeans instead of skinny jeans. Thanks for stopping by the blog this week, and Happy Friday!!!
