Striped Tunic Sweater
Can you believe we are about one week away from Christmas?!?!? My shopping is done, but now the task of wrapping all the gifts! I like to pick a night, put on a Hallmark Christmas movie, pour a glass of wine, and make a fun night of it. I then put all the wrapped gifts away in my closet, so my dog will not chew on them while I’m at work. LOL. She’s so good and doesn’t chew on furniture or shoes, but she does love to chew on boxes.
My friends and I hit up a fun Christmas Light Walk this weekend. It’s a really fun event to attend. A local neighborhood shuts down a couple streets and all the houses do it up with lights, and we walk around and check them out. This week is filled with Christmas parties all around, so it’s going to be very festive week!
I’m kicking off this blog week with a simple casual outfit idea, perfect for those of us in warm winter climates. This striped tunic sweater is perfect with both jeans and leggings. I paired it with my leather leggings and boots for Thanksgiving! For today, I’m going with jeans and a few tan add ons. The top is a bit more ivory than white, so it works perfectly with the brown shades.
Also, I’m kind of madly in love with my new crossbody bag! It’s the perfect size for carrying on weekends. It holds all my weekend necessities – wallet, keys, sunglasses, phone, and lipstick. It comes in a few different color options, but I chose this tan one. This color will work year round and goes with tons of colors. I have another bag in this shade that I carried so much, but it was just a bit bigger. I really wanted a slightly smaller one, and this one is perfect!
Next week will be a busy week of holiday festivities and travel, so I’m doing something I haven’t done in forever – I’m taking the week off from blog posts! I love putting all the posts together, so it’s always hard for me to force myself to take a break. With lots of holiday plans on the schedule next week, I really wanted to be focused and present. As hard as it is to take a break, I am excited for the mini vacation. I will be doing some behind the scenes tech updates too. So if you are checking out the blog next week, and something seems off that might be why.
The rest of this week will be filled with my best of posts from beauty favorites to my favorite, the top posts of 2019. Then, I will be back December 30th with a look back at what I wore over the past month. I can’t believe it’s almost 2020! Hope you have a great week ahead!

How To Wear a Winter White Outfit
Winter outfits tend to lean more to the darker side of the color spectrum, but occasionally I love to put on a winter white outfit. If you want to give it a try this season, below are a few of my tips on how to wear winter white.
1) Add in a jewel tone piece of jewelry to add a fall/winter color to the look.
2) Layer with another lighter colored piece. I like to use colors like beige, blush pink, and light gray.
3) Add shades of brown in your shoes and bag. I think the brown adds an earth tone appeal to the overall look. You could also opt to go with light taupe colors too.
You can try just one of these with your winter white or all 3 like I did in this outfit. If your winter white includes a sweater, you may opt for just colorful jewelry. You may opt for simple gold jewelry and brown or taupe shoes. You can play around with these 3 ideas to mix and match with your outfit.
Christmas party season officially kicks off for me this week with my first party of the season. It’s a fun after work event with my sorority alum group. My alum group has lots of activities throughout the year, and I have not been able to make it out to as many lately. I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone!

70s Inspired Outfit: Bell Sleeve Top
Well it has been a long week! It started with me having a small cold which made me just want to come home and sleep after work and is ending with a little road trip to my first Aggie football game. I’m really excited to experience a Texas A&M game because I have heard it’s pretty cool. My college was not a big football school, so I feel like not many people went to games. I always wondered what it would be like to go to a game for a big school, and now I get to find out. In fashion preparation, I picked up a maroon coat because it’s supposed to be cold and a clear purse because apparently that’s a rule.
Enough football, let’s talk fashion. My look today definitely gives me a 70s inspired feel. This polka dot bell sleeve top with a semi-cropped banded waist made me think of the fashion of the 70s when I tried it on. I knew it needed to be paired with some flared jeans and tan suede heels to complete the outfit.
When trying to be inspired by past fashion trends, I try to give nods to the old but also keep the look present. You can do this with the print you choose or the accessories. I went with a smaller flare leg over a full bell bottom look, and went with a currently popular polka dot print.
You can instantly transform this top to current and chic by changing the jeans for a leather pencil skirt or skinny jeans. I love adding in a pop of color with my earrings. I think the big statement earrings were the perfect compliment to the overall look.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Cozy Brown Sweater with Back Bow Detail
Hello Friday! Ya’ll this week went by pretty fast for me, which is a sign that the holidays are coming! I always think the end of the year flies by with all the holiday activities and shopping going on. If you are prepping your holiday gift shopping, stay tuned because my gift guides start next week! I know, I still can’t believe it’s already time to start our Christmas shopping.
Before we jump on that holiday, let’s go back one with this cute fall outfit that would be perfect for Thanksgiving! I’ve been majorly crushing on shades of brown this season. Earth tones have been big and give me all the fall feels! I’ve added so many earth tone tops to my closet including this cozy brown sweater. For more of a fall vibe, I paired this sweater with my brown suede booties. You could also opt for black jeans and tall black or brown boots for cooler winter weather.
My favorite part of this sweater has to be the cute bow detail on the back. It’s such a fun surprise detail and great if you wear your hair up on holidays. I know if I am helping in the kitchen, hair usually ends up pulled back which would showcase the cute bow detail! This sweater is super warm and cozy too! I wore it to work last Friday with a pair of brown OTK boots on one of our cold days, and I was so cozy all day!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and thank you so much for spending some time with me this week!
