Red Floral Sleeveless Top
Happy Friday!! I’m officially turning in my apartment keys today and saying goodbye to my home for the past two and half years. I’m always a little sentimental when I say goodbye to a home. I think it brings up all the memories and fun times of the part of life that took place in that space. Along with that feeling is always a little bit of excitement too about all the awesome to come in my next home. I think of each home as one chapter. So even though I moved out 3 weeks ago, today I’m officially closing one chapter and starting another.
Well now let’s talk some summer fashion shall we! This red floral sleeveless top is so cute for Spring and Summer! I love how the red and white print pops against dark wash denim. This top has two lace detail lines which I think help break up this print and add a little shape. It’s super flowy which is great for summer heat! You could also pair this top with shorts either dark wash denim or white. If you live in a warmer fall area, this outfit with brown booties will be perfect in September and October!
Also for all my Nordstrom lovers out there, you may be thinking this is the time of year for the BIG Anniversary Sale. Well this year, the sale was pushed back to August. The other big change is that Early Access will open in stages based on your member level. The more you spend yearly at Nordstrom, the earlier you will get to shop the sale. I’m a little bummed about this because I will not be able to shop on day one. With that and shipping delays, my sale coverage will probably be more shop guides than normal.
Another change that I’m excited about is the addition of a preview week. Starting next Friday, EVERYONE will get to preview the sale online!!! Even though the one change is not my fave, I’m hoping both of these changes will prevent everything selling out so fast. Are you planning to shop the sale this year?? What items are on your wish list??

White Lace Embroidered Top
Hey there, friends! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy over here. I spent a large part of Saturday grabbing the last few items from my apartment which ended up being a full carload and the final cleaning of the place. I really loved that apartment and so many things about it. It’s definitely a little bittersweet to say goodbye. On Sunday, my mom stopped by the new house for her first in-person tour. It was my first time seeing her in person in over 4 months! I was so excited to see her and show her around the new place. So I guess my weekend was filled with saying goodbye to the old and hello to all the fun new.
Continuing with my white top love, this white lace embroidered top is another buy now and wear for multiple seasons later. I’ve had my eye on this top for a year or so now. I’ve seen it in a few different colors but I love the chicness of the white color. I think the white version can be easily dressed up or down. I opted to do a mix of the two and pair it with my skinny jeans and strappy kitten heels.
A few other outfit ideas for this top –
- Pair it with white denim and nude colored heels, espadrille wedges, or a bright colored heel
- Toss on some black skinny jeans and brown tall boots in the fall
- Add in some distressed jeans and brown suede booties
- For an office friendly look, pair this top with gray or colorful skinny work pant. Think navy, green, or burgundy with a pair of heels or nice flats.
Which outfit idea would be your favorite way to wear this white lace top?

Simple Summer Outfit: Tank Top + Jean Shorts
We are definitely in the thick of the summer heat with temps hitting over 100 this week! Simple summer outfit combos like this orange tank top and distressed jean shorts look will be on major repeat for the rest of summer. I wear these shorts so much and had hoped to buy one or two more pairs of distressed shorts, but I haven’t yet made it to a store.
I might brave trying to buy some online (I’ve heard good things about this shorts line), but I think shorts really need to be tried on in store. When I do buy jean shorts, I often will size up one for a looser and comfier fit. With cotton shorts I often buy my true to fit size for a more structured look. It’s really all about personal preference, and I like my denim shorts to not be as fitted as say my jean pants.
Lightweight tank tops are a must for me this summer as we continue spending so much time at home or running only quick errands. The smock neck detail on this one helped it feel a little more special than your average top. I’m also a big fan of earth tone colors like this rust orange for summer. For all my UT gals, this will be great to wear to football games this fall or next spring whenever they happen.
Our patio furniture was delivered yesterday. We braved the evening heat to enjoy a glass of wine outdoors. With our grill almost ready to go, the outdoor space is really starting to come together! Next on the list for this space is a ceiling fan to add a cool breeze to the space on hot days.
This weekend, I’ll be moving the final few things from my apartment and saying goodbye to the space I called home for over two years. I plan to follow that up with a little pool time at our community pool and more unpacking at the new house. What’s on deck for you this weekend?

Organza Puff Sleeve Top
Oh the brunch and date night outfits that I have planned! When shopping for fun going out tops, I’ve been leaning more towards color options that can be worn across multiple seasons. White has been a front runner since it works well in all 4 seasons. This white organza puff sleeve top is so fun for a girls’ dinner or brunch. The bubble sleeves add a dramatic statement factor to any look. The body is a comfy fitted knit sweater top.
I paired it with my distressed jeans to create a casual look, but I had to add in my snakeskin heels to still give a dressed up vibe to the outfit. For fall, black jeans and tall brown boots will create the perfect weekend outfit. Another outfit idea is to pair this top with white jeans and add a colorful heel for a neutral spring look.
How was your 4th of July weekend? We started off the weekend hanging out poolside with some of Steve’s family and ended it with our first big home purchase – patio furniture! It will be delivered this week, and I cannot wait!! We found the comfiest patio set. We compromised a little on color for comfort, and I’m happy with it.
