So it’s happening, we are officially forecasted to break the 100 degree mark this weekend!! The fabulous thing about it is that I have some awesome pool time on the books for this weekend. This time of year is my least favorite time to get ready for work!! I mean can I just show up in a tank top and shorts please!! The more professional alternative – a sort of crop top and pencil skirt. This top hits just below mid-waist, so paired with a pencil skirt no skin shows. I do also toss on a camisole underneath just in case. I am always a fan of pairing a pencil skirt with flowier tops, and I love how the bounce on this one floats over the edge of the skirt!! If I am going to wear a tank type top to work, I do make sure the straps are 1-2 inches thick. The material of this one is thin, so it is perfect for hot summer work days!! I also love that I can add a coloful cardigan on top if the office is too cold.
I also have to mention that my Henri Bendel bag in Green is back in stock!! I receive so many compliments on this bag from coworkers, friends, even strangers. I think the color is way prettier in person too. If you prefer a more neutral purse, they also released this bag in a really pretty taupe color. Thanks for stopping by!!

Southern Blog Society Conference Recap

As a member of the Southwest Blog Society, I was invited to Southern Blog Society Conference this past June in Charleston, SC. I was over the moon excited to join in on the fun of SBSCon and to visit the charming city of Charleston. I am really excited today to peel back the curtain, and give you a sneak peek into my conference experience. This post is super photo heavy, but I mean the pictures say it so much better than I ever could describe.

The conference was primarily held a the Belmont Charleston Place off of King Street. This hotel is gorgeous and full of charm and character. The beds were amazingly comfortable which was nice after long conference days. The hotel was also in the heart of King Street with great shops and restaurants all within walking distance.

The event kicked off with a Welcome Party hosted by Swoozies. Thanks to a few flight delay issues, I missed all but the last 10 minutes of this party. Although, this was also one of the hotter and humid nights, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

Swoozies gifted everyone with a fun little gift pack including a cool notepad, a pen, and some cookies. All necessities for the weekend!!

Cocktails and light bites were served while everyone had a chance to mix and mingle. It was cool to see and meet bloggers you only know through social media or by reading there blog.

Saturday morning kicked off with breakfast and lots of coffee at the Charleston Grill. The restaurant is inside the hotel. They do not normally serve breakfast, but made a special exception for us.

I had a great time chatting with a few bloggers including my roommates for the weekend Dana of Something Good Blog and Taylor of Lights, Camera, Catwalk.

After breakfast, we all headed across the street to the Riviera Theater. We received a few more gifts from Heart and Arrow Design before heading into the auditorium where all the sessions were held.

This part kind of gave me college flashbacks. 🙂 I loved listening to all of the speakers and took lots of notes!!

One of my favorite speakers was Blair from Blog Better by Leap. She spoke on blog design. I am currently in the works of revamping my current design, so I loved some insight into improving your design and making it more user-friendly. If you want help with your blog, check out her sight. She post tons of valuable info all about blogging!
We also had a brand panel with Kendra Scott, TheRealReal, and Lily Pulitzer brand reps. We were allowed to submit questions leading up to the event, and they answered some of the top questions. It was interesting to hear the brands perspective on different things.

After the sessions had finished, the curtain at the front of theater opened to the grand brand networking suite. It was probably the coolest moment of the confernce. I had no idea there was an entire room back there, let alone that all these brands had set up tables and where just waiting for us to head down to meet and greet. I wanted to share a few of the tables, but this is only a small sampling of the brands that were present. Each brand had a little something for each blogger, and it was nice to get some face time with brands and hear about some of the projects they have coming up.
Yep, there was also mimosas and light bites during our networking time!

The founders of the societies and chairs of the conference were Jessica of My Style Vita and Cathy of Poor Little It Girl. The biggest news of the conference was that our little societies are going national!! If you are interested in joining, head HERE to find your region and apply!!

After the conference, I headed out onto King Street to explore a little more of Charleston, but I will save my tourist photos for another post!!

I love shopping the Nordstrom sale, but I hate waiting for cooler weather to wear all my fun new clothes. I did pick up a few pieces that I could start styling now, and this dress is one of them. It is a close race, but I’m pretty sure this is my favorite purchase from the sale. This dress comes in a few other colors, but this wine color is so gorgeous! I am always drawn to any clothes in this color because it mixes so well with others. I can pair it with both brown and black shoes, or for summer a great nude pump. These shoes were also a Nordstrom Sale purchase. I loved that the color was close to my skin tone, so it intensifies the long leg illusion. I’m 5’3, so a shoe that makes me look taller is pretty much an immediate add this to my cart item. I wear my patent ones all the time in spring and summer, so I know these are going to be put to very good use!
For this look, I was trying to plan something for a wedding or an after work event. I decided I wanted my jewelry to have a simple, sophisticated look. I knew my new Swell Caroline bracelet would be the perfect compliment to this dress. Swell Caroline has an amazing variety when it comes to jewelry. They have tons of fun, colorful pieces and classic sophisticated styles. They also have a huge selection of monogrammed pieces too!! This bracelet has four color options, but I knew I wanted to go with white. I love how the white pops against the gold. I also think the white version has a high versatility factor which is a winner in my book. I can wear it in all seasons and with an array of colors. I have had fun mixing it in with my other bracelets (aka you will be seeing this beauty again). I feel it was that missing piece to my arm stack. I have really been wanting to add a few colorful jewelry pieces to my collection, and this place will definitely be one of my first stops. Swell Caroline has more than just jewelry too! I have been eyeing this little beach tote for an upcoming girl’s getaway weekend!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! I had so much fun spending time with my family and my mom for her birthday!! Now off to tackle another work week!! Thanks for stopping by the blog!

I think my favorite item I have purchased so far this summer is my denim vest. Not going to lie, I felt kind of like a 90s flashback when I purchased it, but I have been getting some good use out of it. I love tossing it over a sundress to change up the look of a dress. You can take a dress that might be a little fancier and create a more casual look by adding a denim vest. If you add some cowboy boots to this look, you would be ready for county fair season in Texas. I am really excited to try and transition this summer staple of mine into fall later this year. I’m hoping to be able to toss this vest over long tunics with leggings and boots or long sleeved dresses. Even better for you this vest is currently 40% off!! Also, my crossbody I wear all the time on weekends is currently majorly reduced and under $100!! This is a great crossbody bag if you need something to hold a small wallet, phone, and keys. I hope you all have a great weekend!! Today is my mom’s birthday, and I always cook her a fancy dinner on the weekend of her birthday!! I have some meal planning (aka Pinterest searching) to do!! Happy Friday!!
