I love how an outfit can transform your mood. Whether it be because you have a job interview, a big work presentation, or just because you are feeling a little down in the dumps, putting on the perfect outfit can change your attitude and say, “Today I am kicking butt and taking names – this girl means business!” That is exactly how I feel in this outfit! While for each person that outfit may be a little different, this combo is it for me. I definitely think black is my power color. I always feel strong and oh so chic in that color. I also always feel more confident in a sleek great fitting pencil skirt. I love a full midi skirt, but I have an obsession with pencil skirts! I am also a huge shoe lover, so the power piece for me is always in the shoes! I could live in these Enzo Angiolini pumps. You have seen them on the blog oh so many times, but it is because they are such an amazing shoe! They go with both pants and skirts, and are pretty comfortable. If you feel strong and confident in what you have on, I think nothing will stand in your way. What is your favorite thing to wear when you need a little confidence boost?

Best of 2014
I can’t believe the year is ending already, I feel like it just began! I also cannot believe I have been writing this blog for over two months! This blog was definitely an in the works project all year long, and to have made it this far is awesome! Today’s outfit is part of a 2 day post, One Sweater Two Ways. The second part of this post will be revealed on Friday. For today’s look, I am styling this sweater for the office. If you have been reading my blog for the past few months, then you know how I love to style my pencil skirts! This high/low sweater from Topshop is perfect for my flowy top look. I love the cream color of the sweater because it goes with so many different colors and breaks me of my normal black color palette. Both my top and skirt are from last year, but I found some great similar pieces linked above. My favorite part of my outfit today are these gorgeous shoes from Elaine Turner. I had been eyeing these shoes for months, and decided to splurge on them over Elaine’s Pink Friday sale. I love that they are a cross between a bootie and a dress shoe. They are perfect to wear with skirts for work! Bonus for you, they are still on sale and also come in a gorgeous taupe color. Remixing another piece from a previous post today! The darker magenta color of this skirt makes it a great transitional piece to carry me into every season! While normally I love pairing a pencil skirt with a loose and flowy top, the cooler temperatures have me reaching for oversized sweaters instead. It still gives you that same juxtaposition I love with a pencil skirt and flowy top, but keeps you a little warmer. I am so in love with this sweater. It is so incredibly comfortable!!! I can’t wait to pair this sweater with jeans and boots further into the winter season or just to lounge in around the house with a pair of leggings. The sweater is going to look great for a casual family gathering and is a classic style that I can wear for years. I am also having a a remix moment with my boots today pairing them with a skirt instead of my normal jeans. To keep over the knee boots office friendly, I try to keep a 2 inch rule between my skirt and the top of the boot. Since I am a bit on the short side, I think the few inches between skirt and boot help make me look a little taller. After all when you are petite, it is great to be able to give the illusion of height especially with no heel involved. Hope ya’ll are having an amazing week! We are almost to the halfway mark!
