Gingham Dress

Ya’ll, we have had the prettiest first week of Spring! I know so many are dealing with snow, but our weather has been picture perfect. So I think you should all escape to Texas and join our Spring weather party!! 🙂 I have a feeling everyone will be outdoors all weekend long, and the rosé will be flowing!
I love pulling out the black and white gingham print for Spring. This print seems right up there with florals in popularity. I found this gingham dress about a week before I bought it. I could not get it out of my head. I loved the gingham, but I also LOVED the ruffle midi bottom and halter neckline. I think two really work well with my petite frame. The full skirt is balanced out by the tighter fitting and shoulder baring top. Also, this dress is perfect for twirling. I felt a little like my BFF’s 3-year old when she puts on her princess dresses. I just had to twirl a bit.
Originally, I pictured pairing this with fun red statement jewelry for a party or happy hour look. Once I tried it on, I decided to play with a softer color and pair it with this light turquoise statement necklace and simple gold stud earrings. I like how the softer color plays up the feminine details on the dress. I think this softer styling would be perfect for a baby/bridal shower, date night, or a fancy lunch.
Sizing Note: Most brands at Asos are European sizing, so you will need to size up. I am wearing a US6 in this dress, and I normally wear a 4 in dresses. If you have never shopped Asos before, I love them! They were one of the first places I shopped at online. They have really quick shipping. I usually get my packages in 2-7 days, and the return process is really easy too. With the sizing difference, I have had some big misses which made me appreciate their easy return process.

Happy First Day of Spring! I cannot think of a more perfect way to celebrate than with this gorgeous light blue dress AND a round up of my favorite 2o Spring dresses under $100! I am a huge fan of Spring for many reasons. The big non-fashion ones – 1) all the flowers are blooming and 2) the feeling of fresh starts and new beginnings. I feel like everything from plants, people, and social calendars are all start coming back to life with the start of Spring.
The Spring season has me on the biggest dress kick right now. I’m warning you, the rest of March and most of April is going to be real dress heavy, but they will all be really pretty. 🙂 I love this little light blue number for Easter, date night, a baby/bridal shower, or a fancy Sunday Brunch. It’s Topshop which is European fit and sizing, so you definitely want to size up. I’m wearing a US6, and I normally wear a 4 in dresses.
Ya’ll these sandals that I love finally came back in stock in my size in the taupe color. I have never added to cart so fast!! I predict to wear these and my black pair on major repeat all spring and summer. I mean they are the most comfortable heels I own after all.
I also rounded up 20 of my favorite Spring dresses under $100. If I let myself keep browsing, I probably would have ended up closer to 100 under 100. What to Wear with White Shorts

Happy Friday!! Our area schools have been on Spring Break which means I have seen lots of beach and pool pics flooding my social media feeds. We had perfect Spring Break weather and are starting to have 80 degree days! It’s supposed to rain this weekend, but I’m hoping it will take a small break because I kind of want to lay by the pool for a bit.
It also means it is time to start dusting off my shorts. I purchased these white cotton shorts from Old Navy a couple years ago, and I still love them. I don’t like to spend too much on shorts because I feel like I don’t wear them as much as jeans and dresses. Although, the fact that our winter was really short here makes me think we are going to have a really hot summer, so I may buy a few new pairs this year.
For what to wear with white shorts, I lean towards dark or bright color pairings. These colors really pop against the white. I love that this top incorporates both of those. It’s also super flowy which is great for keeping cool on hot days. With shorts, I tend to opt for either wedges or a flat sandal. I like to go with neutral options to help elongate the look of my leg. The wedge can also help make your leg look a little leaner too.
Another style idea for white shorts, go neutral with a fitted white tank or tee. You can add in pops of color with your accessories, or go all gold for a dressier look. Size note on this top, it runs big in my opinion, I sized down to an XS.
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you back here next week when I will share my current spring obsession! See you then.

The Most Comfortable Heels I Own

A few weeks ago, I broke a HUGE new shoe rule. I wore brand new, never worn, never broken in shoes to a wedding. I love shoes especially heels, I own lots of them, and pretty much every pair of heels I own has needed a breaking in period. Sometimes one wear, sometimes 10 wears, but at least some breaking in before you plan to wear them to an event filled with dancing, standing, and walking around.
Y’all these block heel sandals needed ZERO breaking in. These sandals were a Christmas gift, and I just never got around to breaking them in because well it was winter. I knew they would be the perfect shoe to pair with my long black dress for a wedding, so I decided to risk it and wear them straight out of the box.
I spent cocktail hour standing and sipping champagne and followed it up with hours on the dance floor, all in no pain! At the end of the night, I saw so many women kicking off their heels to keep dancing, and I realized my feet didn’t hurt at all. It was at that moment, these block heel sandals made their way to the top of my list of most comfortable heels in my closet. I’m currently waiting for the taupe version to come back in stock in my size because that color will be perfect for spring and summer!
One thing I love about block heel sandals is how they can work with both formal, dressy outfits and super casual outfits. They remind me of a dressier option to a wedge sandal. I could not resist styling them in this super casual tee and jeans outfit for today. I love the pairing of the tomboy tee and the girly heels. Also you guys, this tee is sooooo soft!!! It will get lots of wears this summer for sure.
