FREE Fall Wardrobe Basics Checklist Download
Hello Hello and Happy Friday!!
Are you ready to start prepping your closet for fall? I am trying out something fun, new and exciting this season to help you start building your fall wardrobe.
Over the years, I have loved sharing my fashion and style tips with you in outfit posts. After helping a few friends spring clean their closets, I thought it would be fun to try something a little different and help more women navigate their closets and build versatile wardrobes. I love wearing trendy items, but the secret to a great wardrobe starts with having a great base!
I created a checklist of the items I consider must have to building a base for a casual fall wardrobe. These items can be mixed and matched throughout the season to give you new casual outfits each and every week. I will be creating some blog outfits this season based on this list to give you outfit ideas too.

Have a great weekend!
Yellow V-Neck Top + Brown Booties
Hello Hello! How is your week going so far? It has been busy busy over here prepping for the launch of something fashionable and fun later this week. Fingers crossed, I will have all the final touches done and can share with you on Friday!
While our temps are still screaming summer, I have started adding a few lightweight fall pieces to my wardrobe. This yellow v-neck top is a perfect summer to fall transitional top. The mustard yellow color works well with both seasons. The lightweight material and loose fit of this top really helps in the heat. For summer, I would pair this with denim shorts and flat sandals or wedges. As cooler weather approaches, you can trade out your jeans and sandals for cuffed jeans and booties. When even cooler weather hits, I plan to pair this top with tall brown boots and a leather jacket or long cardigan.
Early fall is one of my favorite times to stock up on transitional and lightweight layering pieces. Our winters are usually not too bad, so these tops are a great option with a jacket or cardigan during winter months. Sometimes sweaters can be a little too warm since many places keep the indoors nice and toasty during the winter. If you are looking to add a few transitional tops that will last a few years, opt for solid colors or prints that aren’t super trendy like stripes and dots.
I hope you guys have a great rest of the week, and thanks for stopping by!

August Reader Favorites
Hello friends! How’s your long weekend going? I had a super productive Saturday, a fun mini road trip on Sunday, and today is all about relaxing and maybe a little pool time. I’m kickstarting the month with a look back at your favorite items from August. Handbags were popular last month with 2 making the list. We also have 2 repeat favorites this month!
Keep scrolling to see if your favorite made the list this month!
A reminder on how I figure out which items ya’ll loved –
I use an affiliate program called Rewardstyle. If you click on a link from my blog or social media that takes you to a product page on a retailer’s site, Rewardstyle is able to track that your visit to that site originated from me. The Rewardstyle affiliate program pays me a commission per purchase made. Basically, if you click on one of my links and end up making a purchase, I earn a small commission.
Because I use this service I also have access to certain data analytics. This means I can see and keep track of which items are clicked on and which lead to a purchase. I do not see who clicked on the link or what items might have been purchased. For example, if you click on my latest pair of heels and then purchase a new red lipstick too, I will only be able to see that a purchase was made and that the heels link is how you arrived to the retailer’s site. It’s kind of similar to how a salesperson may earn commission in the store.
I’m a numbers gal, so I love diving into all the data every month. These analytics allow me to keep track of what ya’ll loved and didn’t so much love. If I see one item is clicked on and/or purchased more, I might consider sharing a restyle over on Instagram. These commissions are an easy way for you to support my blog without having to do anything extra and a way for me to cover the variety of expenses that come with running a blog. So if you have ever made a purchase through one of my links know that I am so grateful for you and your support of my blog.
Now on to your August favorites!

Flared Bootcut Jeans for Petites
Happy Happy Friday!! I’m so excited for the extra long weekend ahead. We had some storms sweep through Wednesday, and they left us with some pretty nice weather. I plan to take full advantage with pool and patio time. Tonight, I’m heading out to a little birthday dinner with my boyfriend. We are heading to a yummy Houston restaurant that we both have been wanting to try out. It should be the perfect start to the weekend!
Alright, where are all my petite friends at? I have finally found a cute pair of slightly flared jeans made for us petite gals. (Side Note: They come in regular length too.) I like dark wash jeans with as slight flare or bootcut leg. It’s a great jean for dressy casual events and business casual office attire. Most of the denim brands I tend to wear do not have petite sizing and alterations can change the look of the flare leg. I’ve been hearing good things about the affordable Wit & Wisdom denim brand at Nordstrom, so I decided to give this pair a try during the Anniversary Sale.
Y’all these jeans are so comfy!! I ordered a 2 which is my normal jean size, and I do think they feel the slightest bit loose which may have to do with their stretch material design. They aren’t baggy or anything. I’ve worn them multiple times now, and I have not noticed them stretching out or sagging. But if you are between sizes, you might want to consider going down. The length is perfect on me with a pair of heels, and so is the cute bootcut flare leg. These jeans are from their ab-solution line, so they also have a hidden elastic type waistband to help offer more support at the waist.
As for my cute off the shoulder top, it’s a convertible design so you can wear it as off the shoulder or a cowl neck. It’s kind of hard to get the off the shoulder version just right and to stay in place. The cowl neck look would be perfect for work and to partner with skirts. Anytime I see Gibson Cozy, I know I’m going to get chic and oh so soft and comfy. This one did not disappoint in softness!
Alright ya’ll have a fabulous weekend, and don’t forget to take advantage of some of those Labor Day Sales!
