I have really been wanting a black pair of riding boots this season. With all the sales going on right now, I decided it was a good time to buy! I really wanted a pair of Tory Burch riding boots, but at over $300 it was just not in my price range right now, but one day! I hit up the Nordstrom Fall Sale to see if they had any contenders closer to the $100 mark. I was torn between #6 and #7. I turned to my bestie to help settle the tie-breaker. She owns #6 and loves them!! I was all set to buy when I checked the boot shaft height. I’m only 5’3″, so I try to buy boots in the 15 inch range. The Sam Edelman boots are just over 16 which is just a bit too tall for me. I decided to look around the site once more and found the perfect exactly what I was looking for boot and it was on sale! The Corso Como was the exact smooth leather look I wanted, and a boot shaft height of just under 15 inches! Riding boots are definitely a staple of my fall and winter wardrobe! I pair them with leggings, skinny jeans, and dresses. I’m really excited to welcome this new pair to my shoe family! 🙂

Quilted Vest & Boot Socks

| DETAILS |
OLD NAVY Boyfriend Plaid | OLD NAVY Quilted Vest | DL1961 c/o Emma Jeans in Riker | LUCKY BRAND Heloisse Boots [wide-calf] | CHRISSY’S KNEE HIGH SOCKS c/o Teal Polka Dot Knee High Socks | TORY BURCH Robinson Crossbody Bag [SIMILAR] | BAUBLEBAR Slim Hinge Bangle, Astronomer’s Pendant [SIMILAR] | GORJANA Elea Cuff, Zion Necklace | RAYBAN Aviator Sunglasses | IT COSMETICS Lip Gloss in Love | ESSIE Nail Color in Sole Mate
Let the layering begin! Get ready because in fall and winter I love to layer! One item I had to add to my closet this fall was a puffer type vest. I didn’t really want it to be puffy, but just that look. I love this quilted vest from Old Navy! It is thin and lightweight which is perfect for a Texas fall (aka it’s still 80 outside today)! This vest comes in two other colors, but I decided to go with this neutral cream color, so I could mix and match with more tops and dresses. I’m really excited to toss this vest on over some of my swing dresses with boots later this year!
Another fun way to layer is with some boot socks. I kind of own quite a few pairs of knee-high socks. I love wearing them around the house this time of year with shorts. It’s kind of my early fall and sometimes winter loungewear style. I also really like to pair them with my boots for a fun peek of color at the top. I like that if I have to take my shoes off at a friend’s house, I’m going to have some cute socks underneath and not some plain ol’ white ones. Chrissy’s Knee High Socks is one of the best online sites whether you want solid, striped, or festive! My Instagram followers may have seen me sporting some striped ones a few weeks ago when the Hurricane kept me cooped up in my house all weekend. I also have some fun seasonal ones and will probably add a Christmas pair this year! Most pairs are around the $8-$9 range and would make really great stocking stuffers! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by the blog today!!

Plaid & a Leather Skirt

| DETAILS |
BP Flannel Shirt | DO+BE Leather Wrap Skirt [SIMILAR & UNDER $35 | SIMILAR IN SUEDE] | VINCE CAMUTO Hillsy Booties | ELAINE TURNER Colbie Crossbody Bag [SIMILAR | SIMILAR UNDER $35] | WOODKEEPS Ombre Chevron Necklace | BAUBLEBAR Slim Hinge Bangle, Pave Links Bracelet | GORJANA Elea Cuff, Chloe Large Studs | RAYBAN Original Aviators | ESSIE Nail Polish in Sole Mate | MAC Lipstick in Craving
Well it rained almost all weekend again! I did however sneak out during a small break to snap today’s outfit photos because I have been so pumped to share this outfit with you. This plaid shirt and leather skirt were hanging next to each other in my closet, and it made me realize how perfect they would look together. I love how the camel brown of the skirt compliments the navy and green of the plaid perfectly! Since I was already dressing down this leather skirt with a flannel shirt, I decided to also toss on my new black booties. I have been eyeing these shoes since I first saw them this summer. I was in the market for some black booties under $100, but I kept circling back to these which are over that mark a little. I finally decided that if I’m still want them months later, I could justify going over my budget just a bit. I’m really happy I did because I am obsessed with these booties! I love that they are leather but have a suede look to them. They are really comfy too and fit true to size. I also liked the dip in the front of the shoe. Since I’m short, it helps create the illusion of length in my legs so I can wear them with skirts in addition to jeans.
My necklace was an anniversary gift. I love different and unique jewelry pieces, so this was perfect for me. The company uses reclaimed wood to create some really beautiful things from jewelry to home goods. You can even have items personalized, hello Christmas gifts!! Check back tomorrow for my first holiday gift guide of the season all about personalized and monogrammed gift ideas. I have also started a gift guide page to help you find the perfect gifts all season long, but more on that tomorrow!!
