I usually hate when there is any sort of breeze or wind while my sister and I are taking blog photos because my hair usually ends up in my face for a good half of the shots. On this day though, the light breeze was perfect to showcase just how fabulous this skirt moves! I have to give major props to my sister for perfectly catching it moving in the breeze. These pictures show just how gorgeous this skirt looks when you move and walk in it. I have found my favorite way to wear this skirt is with a t-shirt. I love that its is fancy on the bottom and casual on top. Pairing it with a tee is also a great way to wear this skirt to a baby shower or brunch without looking too overdressed. Midi skirts are in every store right now! I think they are complimentary style on an array of body types which means they might be around for awhile. Despite that the length of a midi skirt is different on everyone based on height, the skirt never seems to be at an unflattering length. I am a petite 5’3 and one of my besties is about 6 inches taller than me. We were both talking the other day about our love for the midi skirt length. It’s a professional length for work, but you can still wear it on the weekends too.
I have to give a special thanks to Lauren of Style Elixir for naming me Head Stylist on her blog yesterday! Check out my Q&A with her here! You may just learn something new about me! Thanks for stopping by!!

Sometimes it’s all in the details! I swoon over outfit pieces with details, whether it be lace, sequins, beading or embroidery. I found this top last fall at local Houston boutique Pomp & Circumstance. I loved the embroidered detailing of it. I like that the detailing is just the right amount, you know not overdoing it, but enough to catch your eye. I also love that it has a little movement and flow to the top. This top and my flared jeans are a favorite for casual Friday’s at work. Even better with seventies style becoming popular again, I have an outfit ready to go! This top is not available, but I linked another one that I love from them with beautiful detailing.
Also, I have to mention my Rocksbox jewelry pieces this month! The gold earrings and cuff bracelet were part of my box, as well as the necklace from this post. I LOVE these earrings! I think I wore them everyday the first week I received them! I also really like the cuff bracelet. One of my reviews of the bracelets I have received was about how they are all a little big. I really feel like they listened by sending me a cuff that can be slightly sized for my smaller wrist size. Rocksbox has agreed to extend my first month free offer, so take advantage while you can! And look for my post in the next few weeks of my full review of the Rocksbox service and what pieces I have decided to keep.

Boho Chic Experiment

| DETAILS |
POMP & CIRCUMSTANCE Dress, sold out [SIMILAR IN WHITE] | NAUGHTY MONKEY Love Story Bootie | GORJANA Mika Necklace, Zion Necklace | HOUSE OF HARLOW Reflector Bangle | BAUBLEBAR Pave Links Bracelet, old [SIMILAR] | KENDRA SCOTT Elle Earrings in Slate | JULEP Shari
I love a gorgeous boho chic look. The carefree and effortless vibe the style embodies is beautiful. After years of admiring the style from afar, I decided it was time to try it out for myself. I had found pieces here and there, but I was never 100% sold on the look on me. I had begun to think that maybe this style was one I would just admire on others and in pictures. Despite the discouragement, I continued to try on pieces with the boho chic spirit, and that led me to this dress. I fell in love with the gorgeous blue color. It flows amazingly and the comfort level is a dream! When I tried this on in the store, I thought to myself maybe I can do boho chic. I also bought the last blue version of this dress, but linked the white version which is just as gorgeous. After the color, the second big seller for me to even try on the dress was the price tag. Whenever I am shopping for styles that are new or that I am on the fence about, I always look for a lower priced version first. I would hate to spend a $100 plus on something only to realize it really was not me after all. I did this a few years ago when skinny jeans became popular. I headed to my local Target and bought one pair for like 30 dollars. I also proceeded to wear them every week until they were super faded. I decided it was probably a style that was worth investing in. I will probably wear this dress a few more times before fully investing in some of the more expensive brands like Free People or Stone Cold Fox. Although I think this dress might be a little too memorable, so I may have to go back to Pomp and Circumstance and check out some of there other boho type dresses. Are there any styles you love on others but not so much on yourself?

Spring is Here!!!!

The first day of Spring is here, and I cannot think of anything more perfect to wear than this coral top! I am a big fan of wearing dark colors and lots of black, but this spring and summer I am going to try really hard to add more fun and bright colors. This Vince Camuto top is making that goal really easy! It comes in an array of bright colors, I had a hard time only buying it in one. The yellow and hot pink came in very close runner-ups, but I just fell too much in love with this shade of coral/pomegranate. I’m really excited for my little color challenge I am giving myself. I am always drawn to the black and dark version of clothes, so I think this will probably be harder for me than it sounds right now. But I am very excited to add a little more color to my closet! Happy Friday and most important Happy First Day of Spring!
