I’m pretty sure every fashion blogger bought this fall tunic and with good reason! It is the perfect fall piece that you can start wearing now!! Sunday is the last day to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so if you have been contemplating any purchases time is almost up. Check out my posts HERE and HERE if you need some help navigating the sale. I have been debating whether or not to buy this top in white too. This olive color is definitely my favorite of all the color options. I love that I can pair it with skinny white denim and cognac wedges now, and then leggings and brown or black boots in the fall. The shirt is lightweight and easy to move around in. This top is going to be so perfect to layer which is why I kind of also want the white. I think you can never have too many white layering tops. You can also tuck the front of this top in to wear with shorts, but the back will probably hang past your shorts. It will change up the look a little and with shorts you can definitely start wearing now!
If you haven’t heard Kendra Scott released a new collection a couple weeks ago. I previewed the collection at the Southern Blog Society Conference, and have been patiently waiting for it to go on sell so I could snag these pink earrings. The shape of the earring is new for Kendra Scott and has Dubai influences. I love this pink color because in the sun it shines hot pink, but with my dark hair the color darkens a bit when I go inside. I love the hot pink and olive together! A summer earring and fall top creating that perfect season transitioning look!
Lady in Violet is undergoing a little makeover this weekend, so if you visit over the weekend and things look off that is why. Hopefully, everything will go smooth and I will have a fun new design for you to checkout on Monday. I’m so excited for the new look and can not wait to share with you all!! The overall layout isn’t really changing, this is just more of a cosmetic upgrade. If you are impatient like me, you can swing by over the weekend and see the changes in progress. It’s a funny story how I came to find this shift dress. I was shopping the Nordstrom Summer Sale a few weeks back, and the lady perusing the sale dresses next to me stopped to tell me how fabulous this dress was. She told me she loved it so much she had come back to buy it in another color, and it was under $100. Ok, I decided I had to check out this dress. First up, it comes in a variety of fun summer colors and it was hard to pick just one. I finally settled on this pretty light blue because I had multiple dresses in the other color options. I always love a good shift dress especially one that doesn’t wrinkle easy. This is such a great “I’m running late to work and need something quick, easy, and still professional looking” dress. This color is that perfect shade of light blue that it would work with both silver and gold accessories. One easy way to change up a look is by changing up your jewelry, so I like that this works so well with both options. After wearing this to work one of those running late days, I completely understand why she came back for another color! I have been contemplating doing the same!!

Ya’ll, there is A LOT of color on the blog this week! I am definitely becoming a slow convert into loving wearing bright colors!!! This dress is just the icing on the cake! It is super bright pink, such an awesome color to wear this summer. I am a big fan of Everly dresses because they are such light and easy dresses. They do sometimes run a little big, so you may need to go down a size. I picked this one up at the Bevello grand opening a few weeks ago, that store was a plethra of bright colors! I was excited to see that they carried some of my favorite brands like Everly, BB Dakota, and House of Harlow.
With my new colorful wardrobe coming together, I have had to rework how I accessorize a bit. I usually wear a very neutral color palette with lots of black, so I can accessorize with just about any color I want. With all thes bright colors, I have to pay a little more attention. I am a fan of mixing colors, like I think this dress would look fabulous with turquoise jewelry. I have noticed I am really starting to like wearing white jewelry. I think it really pops against the color versus wearing it with an all black look. Although I would totally still wear this necklace with a black top. I have always been a fan of all the fun colors of Kendra Scott jewelry, but I also love how much she gives back to the community. One week from today, I will be joining my fellow Houston area ZTA Alum for a Kendra Scott Gives Back Party benefiting the ZTA Foundation and MD Anderson. This party is just one of the fun Think Pink Houston events happening this year! I have already started planning what I am going to buy at the event. These earrings are definitely on the list! A few weeks ago, my friends and I gathered to celebrate our good friend Meaghan and her future daughter. I wanted what I wore to the shower to be a little bit dressy, but also a little casual. I knew this skirt would be perfect for the little bit dressy part, and that it was also a skirt I could easily dress down a bit. Pretty much my entire outfit was planned around this skirt. For the casual part of my outfit, I reached for one of my H&M tees. I really like how the thin black and white stripes pair with the pinkish peach color of the skirt! With my dressy casual ensemble ready, it was time to accessorize! I have worn this skirt with only gold so far, so I wanted to change it up a bit and pair it with some silver jewelry. I immediately grabbed my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace. I love how the white pearl color looks against the color of the skirt! I felt I needed one more delicate necklace, so I added in my infinity necklace from Wildbloom. It was the perfect length to sit right above the crew neckline of the shirt. Since my Rayne necklace and this skirt are both statement pieces, I kept my earrings and bracelets super simple. I opted for only a couple thin bangles, and my basic Kendra Scott studs. While digging through my purses for a clutch to carry, I found this old favorite from Sam Moon. I love how the turquoise color pops against the pink of the skirt!! It provided the perfect compliment to my outfit!
The shower was beautiful and fun! We made little headbands for the new baby to wear throughout her first year. I, of course, made her a violet one!! Now we are just patiently awaiting this precious little girl’s arrival, so we can start showering her with lots and lots of love!! And so Meaghan can drink champagne with me again. 🙂
