Western style is having a moment, and this Texas gal is here for it. The Texas State Fair is in its last week, and my hometown had its county fair a few weeks ago which are both a great chance to break out your western wear. You don’t need cowboy boots and fringe to make the perfect western outfit. A little denim and turquiose will go a long way to creating a fall western inspired outfit.
For the two Texas events I mentioned, layers are a great option since the weather could be hot or cool. A light blue denim shirt is perfect for early fall and looks great layered over a simple white cami or tank top. To create contrast with my denim, I paired this light blue with a black skinny jean. A dark blue would work as well. In lieu of cowboy boots, I opted for my western style brown booties. Any pair of brown booties or boots will work with this outfit. The perfect way to complete your fall western inspired outfit is with a touch of turquoise. I went with my turquoise gold bangle, but earrings or a necklace would also work.
Take this western inspired outfit to the state fair, county fair, country concert, rodeo, or just out for a fun weekend with friends. It’s perfect for any casual weekend affair.

Back to back black and white tops, but it’s such a classic color combo and great for fall. If you need a blouse to add into your fall work wear rotation, this layered sweater and polka dot blouse is definitely one to consider. It’s a faux layered top which I find much more comfy than layering a button up blouse and sweater vest. The blouse underneath creates a waist flattering peplum flare at the bottom, and the polka dot print is a good professional print.
I paired this with bootcut jeans for business casual look. This top will pair well with slacks or even better a pencil skirt for a more professional outfit. Since the black and white polka dot can give off a gray illusion, I opted to pair this outfit with gray accessories from my heels to my silver jewelry. One great thing about black and white is that you can play with a fun statement color in your jewelry or shoes too.

It’s finally starting to feel like fall around here which means it’s finally time to start pulling out some fun fall outfits. Ya’ll know I love a good brown and black combo for the fall season. I paired this black and white popover blouse with by brown dress booties for a dressy casual outfit. If you want to make this more casual, a pair of brown booties would be the perfect pairing.
This black and white popover blouse is a great work to weekend top to have in your closet this fall. The leaf print is sewn on and gives a textured look to this top. With the all black and brown ensemble, I added my turquoise bracelet in for a small pop of color.

When August hits, I start looking for items that will be a great season transitional piece. Items that I can start wearing at the end of summer and continue wearing into the early fall months. Living in a warmer climate, this usually means lighter fabrics for warm days, silhouettes for cooler nights, and a color that fits the bold summer palette and darker fall tones.
This Farm Rio puff sleeve mini dress hits all the marks as a great summer to fall transitional item to have in your closet. The fabric is lightweight and works well in the heat. I can confirm as I wore this dress twice in August. It’s a mini dress so a good silhouette for warmer weather, but the long sleeves will also work for cooler days. The base of the sleeve is elastic which makes it perfect to push up for a warmer day as well.
The floral print is the perfect summer print with a fun bold color palette. The colors do lean more to a dark bold color than the bright colors of summer which makes it great for fall. For August, I paired this dress with wedges and block heel sandals. As we transition into fall, a brown tall boot or pair of heels will be the perfect compliment.
Sizing Note: This dress goes on over your head and is fitted in the bust area, so I would keep that in mind when choosing a size. I’m wearing a size small.
