You ever notice the hotter it gets outside, the colder inside feels. This time of year sometimes you have to dress for 90+ outside temperatures plus the inside temps that feel like 50 or 60. I like to mix some hot weather items like this linen skirt with something to keep my warm like a long sleeve shirt. This linen fabric of this skirt is super lightweight and perfect for hot temperatures!! As for the shirt, I like that I have the option to roll up my sleeves while outside, and roll them down inside to keep me warm. I am definitely someone who gets cold easily, so I am always looking for ways to make sure my outfit can work in cooler temps no matter what the outside temp is, especially in an office environment. I’m really liking the way the dark color of the chambray and olive green mix together, plus the addition of the dark purple bag just adds another dimension! I am definitely going to have to keep this color combo in mind for future use!

How to Style a Colored Satchel

I haven’t decided what my favorite color to wear with this teal bag is yet, but it is definitely between blue and dark pink. A few weeks ago, I shared a few tips on purchasing a colored purse, so I figured I would share a tip on how to style a colored satchel. The shocking truth though ya’ll is this tip is super similar to one of the purchasing tips. When you carry a colored satchel on a daily basis, you quickly have to love color mixing. It is a huge part of styling this purse. I am not going to wear this with a teal or green dress. I am going to style with either other cool colors like blue to slightly blend in, or with fun shades of pink or purple to allow it to pop. If you aren’t quite ready for a full on two-tone look, you can start small like in today’s outfit. Overall my look is mainly white with the jeans and the background of the top which really allows the green of the purse to pop and take the spotlight. I also love how the green color pops against a dark pink. The print covers about half the shirt which can ease you into color mixing.

I have a confession, I do not like to wear the same dress to weddings in the same season. Thanks to social media, you and your dress will be plastered everywhere. But buying $100+ dresses when you have several weddings can get pricey! I started looking for some more affordable alternatives and stumbled upon Showinbuy. I originally found this site while looking for some low priced beach and day dresses when this dress showed up in my list. When I first saw this dress, I immediately thought it would make the perfect wedding guest dress. The dress is form fitting, but has a fun flare to the bottom of the skirt. The flare really made the dress for me. It has this sleek sophistication throughout the cut of the dress, and then the flare at the bottom for a little bit of party and a night full of dancing. This dress comes in three colors (purple, green, and black), and I had a hard time picking one. When I’m shopping for a wedding guest dress, I want a color I can wear across all seasons. All three of these colors would be perfect for any season! Since I have tons of little black dresses, I decided to go with the purple which is more of a magenta color in person. Although not going to lie, the green was a super close second place choice!! The shoulder of this dress has a very distinct edge and line to it. It is not something you see very often, and I love having dresses with a special and unique touch to them. The best part of this dress was the price tag of under $30!! The material and quality of the dress are really good. I would think this dress cost easily 2 or 3 times what it did. I’m happily adding this dress to my wedding guest rotation, and because of the price can afford to add a couple more too!! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!!

I love mixing and matching different styles. This look is a little bit casual, little bit fancy and a little bit edgy. I would call this my “I’m going to a sports bar, but still want to be a little dressed up look.” Sometimes just adding one or two dressed up details can take your casual outfit up a notch. I really do not wear flats a lot, so I love adding a fun pair of heels or wedges to a casual look. My second best way to dress up a casual look is with some fun and fancy jewelry. Tassel details are everywhere right now!! I have seen them on purses, shoes, clothes and jewelry. I was excited to receive these beauties from Lisi Lerch at our Southwest Blog Society brunch a few weeks ago. Lisi Lerch makes some of the most fabulous statement earrings! I think these tassel earrings are so fun! They are a true statement earring!! They also come in a variety of colors. I love the white and turquoise colors too. I will say if you do not normally wear larger earrings, they might be a little heavy. My sister is a studs only girl, and she found these to be a little too heavy for her. BUT if you still really want to wear a fun pair of statement earrings, they do make products (like this one) to help carry the weight a little. Thanks for stopping by today!!
