When it comes to colored jeans, the color at the top of my list is easily teal. This color is perfect to wear year round! In winter and fall, it pairs perfectly with an over-sized beige or black sweater, and both brown and black boots. In spring and summer, I mix it up with tanks and tunics. I purchased this pair from the Loft a few years ago, but I linked some other jeans in a similar teal color. I like the slightly darker shade of teal because that is what helps them transition so easily across the seasons. If you are looking for an easy lightweight top to add to your wardrobe this summer, meet the Lush Roll Tab top! It comes in a wide variety of shades and patterns. The link will only take you the print I am wearing, but click on the LUSH brand title and narrow the item type to sleeves and blouses, and you will see all the options! I originally had the bright turquoise version in my shopping cart, but switched to this print because I thought it was pretty and different. This top is so comfy and light that I think I’m going to go back and buy the turquoise color and possibly more. This is one of those tops that can cross seasons just like my jeans. I plan on wearing it with shorts this summer, pencil skirts in the office year round, and with jeans and boots in the winter. It is also a classic style and cut, so it will be around for awhile. All that and only $38, definitely a win in my book! Happy Friday and Happy LOOOONG Weekend!!

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet the amazing designer Chan Luu at an event benefiting Dress for Success. First off, she was so amazing and down to earth. She was super approachable to talk to or snap a photo with. I also thought it was really cool that she was at the bracelet display helping people try on her gorgeous wrap bracelets! I fell in love with this white crystal pull tie bracelet immediately. Once I put it on, I knew I was buying it. I think I have tried to work it into my outfit everyday since I purchased it. I love how it pairs perfectly with my casual tunics and gold bracelets. As an added bonus, a portion of my purchase went back to Dress for Success so I had to buy it, right?!? If you have never heard of Dress for Success, it is an organization that supports disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Since 1998, Dress for Success Houston has provided business attire, a much-needed boost of confidence, and career advancement services to more than 30,000 women in the Houston community. I have been volunteering at Dress for Success for a few years now, and I absolutely love watching the women grow both personally and professionally! If you have any business attire you are not wearing, the Dress for Success office accepts clothing donations like suits, closed-toe shoes, professional handbags preferably black, hosiery, and more. Visit the Dress for Success Houston website to learn more about the organization, donations or volunteering!

I admit it, I have a huge obsession with clutch purses! I love them no matter the size or color. Purses are definitely an area I tend to be more willing to splurge on, because I think you can carry the same bag over and over to get your money’s worth. I take really good care of mine, keeping them in the duster bags when not in use to preserve their appearance and life. Clutch designs are just so much fun, and they can be the statement piece of your outfit or a subtle compliment piece. I wear a lot of solid colors, so I love bringing in a fun clutch to my outfit. One of my go to clutch brands is Elaine Turner, so I had to include a couple from her current Spring line. I love the Fringe Bo (it also comes in a fun yellow!). I played around with it in her store recently, and it was so fun to watch the fringe move as I would walk. I also love this white clutch of hers! It has such a classic sophisticated look to it! I think this may be my next Elaine Turner purchase. The Henri Bendel bag is an over-sized clutch, and in person is way more gorgeous than the picture. Plus, the leather is sooo soft!! I think everyone needs at least one nude colored clutch, because they can go with just about any outfit. I couldn’t decide which of these Sheinside clutches I liked more, so I included both of them. I love the floral on black pattern of the first one, and the second one has sequins in a peacock feather design, enough said!! Also these two are definitely more budget friendly than the others on my list. I love this fun Mar y Sol clutch which would be perfect for a cruise or beach getaway. Or if you live in a coastal state, like say Texas. 🙂 This Kate Spade clutch was a last minute add, I saw it and had to share! How fun is the big bow! I think this is definitely the perfect summer purse! Pair it with a solid color sundress and let it steal the show!
I have partnered with some fellow bloggers for a fabulous giveaway that starts today and runs through May 27th!! The prize is this awesome Canon Rebel camera kit with 2 Lenses AND a Kate Spade purse and necklace. Check out the Rafflecopter below the prize picture to enter! Good Luck!!

The heat and humidity are officially here in Houston! We were graced with a little rain break this weekend, finally!! I, of course, made a dash to the pool for a couple hours to try and get just a little bit of sun on Saturday. In addition to my blogger brunch I mentioned on Friday, I also attended the Burdlife Trunk Show in River Oaks. If you are looking for affordable statement jewelry, look no further than Burdlife! I was able to peruse their current jewelry up close and in person, and it is beautiful! It was hard to only leave with a few pieces, but I did just hit up the Nordstrom triple points event and may have spent too much, as usual. I have been looking for more bright and colorful dresses that I can wear to work and on weekends. I originally wanted this shift dress in teal, but I thought the orange color would be taking me a little outside of my normal color palette. And yes the color is called tomato, but it is not red. When I read the color, I was concerned the dress would be redder in person, but it is definitely a bright orange. This bright color provided the perfect backdrop for my new statement necklace. All the colors in the necklace are just so perfectly complimented by the orange shade. I love it! Thanks for stopping by the blog! Hope you have a fabulous week!
