The heat and humidity are officially here in Houston! We were graced with a little rain break this weekend, finally!! I, of course, made a dash to the pool for a couple hours to try and get just a little bit of sun on Saturday. In addition to my blogger brunch I mentioned on Friday, I also attended the Burdlife Trunk Show in River Oaks. If you are looking for affordable statement jewelry, look no further than Burdlife! I was able to peruse their current jewelry up close and in person, and it is beautiful! It was hard to only leave with a few pieces, but I did just hit up the Nordstrom triple points event and may have spent too much, as usual. I have been looking for more bright and colorful dresses that I can wear to work and on weekends. I originally wanted this shift dress in teal, but I thought the orange color would be taking me a little outside of my normal color palette. And yes the color is called tomato, but it is not red. When I read the color, I was concerned the dress would be redder in person, but it is definitely a bright orange. This bright color provided the perfect backdrop for my new statement necklace. OMG, are ya’ll sick of my styling these white jeans yet?? Well, too bad because I really like them and I’m not done yet! 🙂 I mentioned last week that I finally ventured out of my house in my white denim. Well this is the outfit I wore to my dad’s birthday party. I liked that the vest was long to cover the denim when I would sit down. I live in this sleeveless cardigan in the spring and summer! It always comes with me to the beach or on trips. It is perfect to lounge in during the mornings or evenings when there is a light breeze. It is a few years old, but I found it available at a consignment website (aka resale store). I definitely think I need another long sleeveless cardigan like this one! Probably something similar to the other option I linked. I think a solid gray would be perfect to mix in with so many outfits. In addition to wearing with jeans and a tee, I will toss it on over dresses and shorts. I love how it adds a little something extra to an outfit.
I’m so excited for this weekend! I have a little meetup planned with other Houston members of the Southwest Blog Society. I love when I have an idea for an outfit in my head, and it turns out to be just as amazing when I put it on! When I picked up this see-through tee from Topshop, I immediately imagined wearing lots of bright colors under it. I decided to try out my vision with this coral top I already owned, and it was definitely a winner! I love how coral top is longer and extends out of the bottom of the other top. The white top is not gathered at the bottom which allows the tunic length to perfectly flow underneath it. Now that I have seen how fabulous bright colors look layered under this top, I am ready to commit to a few more. I’m thinking neon yellow would be really fun under this top!
Good news for those of you who loved my clutch last time I carried it, Nordstrom has it back in stock in a slightly lighter color! This is such a beautiful neutral clutch, and it has strap if you want to toss it on your shoulder. The cutout detailing is way more gorgeous in person than in pictures. It is an envelope style purse which makes it a little small on the inside. I can fit my phone, small wallet, and lipstick, but car keys are pushing its limits. Thanks for swinging by the blog today!

I am definitely more of a solids person, but I have been majorly crushing on all the floral prints out this spring. I noticed I have been adding a lot more spring floral dresses to my shopping wish lists lately. Our temperatures in Houston will be hitting 90 soon, so most of my wish list dresses right now are sundresses. I am obsessed with this Trina Turk dress! It is a little out of my price range for something so special and unique (aka I can’t wear it enough to justify the cost), but it is definitely on my sale watch list! The other dresses on this list are all from some fun budget-friendly sites, which are perfect if you want a few (you know like 10 or so 🙂 ) new dresses. I love the print on the other two on the top row. I can see wearing those with wedges for a girl’s lunch or one of my upcoming showers. The watercolor look of the Modcloth dress is so beautiful, perfect for a wedding or church. The light blue dress looks amazingly comfortable and perfect to throw on for some light or major weekend shopping! This Sheinside dress would be perfect for a luncheon or to wear to the office. You could probably get away with wearing a few of these in to the office. If you need some tips, check out my post on wearing sundresses in the office.
