15 Super Bowl Party Outfit Ideas

Where are all my football fans at??? I’m a pretty big football fan. For starters, I grew up in Texas, and we live and breath football here. I’ve played Fantasy Football for years, even one once! Every Sunday, you can usually catch me somewhere watching a game. Fresh out of college, I worked in sports television which only fueled my love for the game. I also formerly worked for network television station which every 3 years airs the big game. Working in sports for several years and then at a tv station that airs lots of NFL, I was engulfed in many of the back end things. Last year, I made a career change and watching football totally changed for me.
I was no longer involved in the work that went to put on the game, if something went wrong with the airing it no longer was going to be my problem come Monday morning. This football season, I got to sit back and just enjoy the games. Every so often I would miss the craziness that is football season at a tv station, but I also enjoyed getting to be on the outside of things and just enjoy the season.
As a football fan, the Super Bowl is kind of bittersweet. It’s what you’ve been watching for all season, and it also means football season and my Sunday plans are over. Over the years, I’ve hosted parties, attended parties, and watched alone. No matter what, I always had yummy football snacks and always dress for the occasion.
I rounded up 15 Super Bowl Party outfit ideas that would be perfect no matter what your game watching plans. Both team colors are red this year, so you may need add in some gold or white accessories to make your team choice stand out! When my team is not playing, I opt for a casual non-team color outfit. Keep scrolling for some Super Bowl outfit inspiration including some red outfit ideas, something for those wanting to look dressy casual but also comfy, and lots of comfy outfits!

Maroon Sweater

Happy Happy Friday!! Oh why do short weeks always feel the longest?!?! After a busy weekend and work week, I am ready for a pretty chill and relaxing weekend to close out January. I have no plans as of right now, and I’m really excited about that. I will probably end up catching up on a few things around the house.
Back in November, I headed to my first Texas A&M football game. I mentioned it when I shared my red puffer coat a week or so ago. This maroon sweater was the other item I wore to the game. My original plan was a lightweight sweater based on the weather predictions. When the forecast changed to colder game time temps, I decided to add the coat to the mix.
Turtleneck sweaters are hit or miss for me. I don’t want to them to feel too tight around the neck. These mock neck style tops are a great alternative for the look without worrying about too tight a feel around the neck. The mock neck style in a solid color is a great basic wardrobe staple add to your closet. You can make it work both casually and professionally. A lightweight version can also be layered under cardigans, vests, and jackets.
I picked my sweater up from Nordstrom Rack, and I noticed it was low in stock. I found a few similar ones HERE and HERE in case you like the look.

Affordable Red Puffer Coat

Hello friends! How was your weekend? My Saturday was filled with all the activities, and Sunday was a relaxing-ish day at home. I did laundry, some cleaning, and blog work, but I also managed to get in some me time. All in my cozy loungewear of course. It was a good balance of fun, relaxation, and productivity.
In November, my boyfriend and I attended my first Aggie football game. A few days before, the weather changed and was predicted to be a little chilly, so I started searching for a maroon coat that would arrive quickly. I also didn’t want to spend too much since I didn’t think I’d wear it too much outside of the game. My search lead me to this affordable red puffer coat. The color on the site makes it look more dark maroon, but I think it has a more dark red with a hint of maroon coloring to it.
It was perfect for the game! It kept me warm but not hot. It has a lightweight feel and isn’t bulky which I really liked. It’s also packable and folds up super small which is perfect for this over-packer! For the price, I think the quality is really good. For size reference, I went with the XS. It’s a perfect fit with a thinner top underneath. For a thicker sweater, I would probably need to go up one size.
To keep this look pretty casual, I paired my puffer coat with my gray slip on sneakers and matching gray mini backpack. My lightweight turtleneck is perfect underneath my coat and I love the stripes paired against the red. This turtleneck is such a great basic staple to have in your closet. I wear mine under cardigans and sweaters, and paired with skirts for work. I like that it’s thin but not see through.
Hope ya’ll have a great day and see ya’ll back here later this week!

How to Mix Brown and Black Like a Pro

For years, I would not mix black and brown in my outfits. It was a fashion no-no, and I was going to play by the rules. But as time went on, breaking the fashion rules became the cool new thing and mixing black and brown became chic and on trend. So I slowly gave in with a few baby steps. A brown pair of shoes with an all black outfit was probably my first toe dip into mixing these two former foe colors. Now, I love the pop of color brown adds to an all black look. What once seemed so wrong, now seems so right.
I thought I would share a few tips on how to mix brown and black in your outfit in case you are still holding on to the days of keeping them separate. First, consider brown your pop of color. Choose a black top and bottom and then accessorize with a brown bag, belt, or shoes. If you want to add in multiple brown pieces try to make them all similar shades. In this look, I opted for the tan/cognac brown coloring. You could also add in a brown jacket.
Second, add some depth with a dark gray to ease yourself into the color combo. This charcoal gray sweater provides a little break from a full all black look, plus the earth tone dark charcoal color works well to balance the lighter brown pieces.
Third, own the look! When tiptoeing outside of your fashion comfort zone, the most important thing to bring with you is confidence. When breaking old fashion rules, you may occasionally be met with a person who is still following the old fashion book. If you own and love your look, you may give someone else the confidence to try out this style and throw that old fashion rule book out the window.
Last, play around with your jewelry. I paired this brown and black outfit with a pair of tortoise earrings that contain both colors. It helps bring the color combo together with one unifying piece. You can make this work with a tortoise necklace too.
